Self-Talk Might Be the Self-Help You Need
How many times do we unconsciously negatively speak to ourselves? When was the last time you said something nice to yourself? Often times, we need to remember how powerful language is. We wouldn’t normally speak to a loved one negatively, so why do we do that to ourselves?
Take this example:
“I should be doing XYZ..”
“I could be doing XYZ..”
“I can be doing XYZ..”
Which one of these phrases would you see as the least harmful? Taking a guess, your answer would be the third one. Giving yourself the option to do something relieves the constant societal pressure to create output. When we shift our mindset into believing that we deserve something, whether it’s to take time for ourselves, to go on that vacation, to eat the dessert, to take the day off because you CAN is a small but powerful change. It may seem silly, but it’s very simple - this rewires our brains and is a secret to becoming unstuck. Think of it this way: speaking energetically, the words we say to ourselves get stored in our cells and will manifest. If we talk about the negative, we become the negative. If we talk about the positive, we become the positive.
