Art of Noticing
The act of remaining present is an art form in itself. Being present means noticing the minute details in our day-to-day lives that we often take for granted. Being present means appreciating all that the world has to offer. Being present is the first step to creating your reality. It shapes our daily choices. When was the last time you walked outside, looked up from your phone, and noted each of the five senses as you took in your immediate surroundings?
A quick practice you can do anywhere:
Notice how you are feeling in this present moment.
Deep inhale; long exhale. Repeat if necessary.
Do a quick body scan from head to feet or feet to head.
Take note of the hair on your scalp - take a breath.
Slowly travel down the body, inhaling and exhaling at each body part.
Once you have covered each body part, take notice again of how you’re feeling. What comes up for you?
How can we love ourselves and our environment in the smallest ways? In a way that transmutes to something bigger than us? What does it mean to you to be present?
